2010 Sample Election Ballot
(Names of Nominees included)

Process and Procedures for the Election of a Board of Director of North Howell Little League

  • Each family who registered one or more children in North Howell Little League and is a "Member in good standing" (as prescribed in the By-Laws of NHLL) during the previous season, is eligible to cast one vote.
  • By-Laws for North Howell Little League
  • Any individual who did not register a child in North Howell Little League but served the League as a volunteer coach or umpire during the previous season is eligible to cast one vote (but not more than one per family). Status as a volunteer is subject to verification and if challenged and found to be false, the individual’s ballot will be invalidated.
  • Individuals eligible to vote must produce identification (i.e. driver’s license) that matches the name and address of the child or children registered or if a volunteer, identification (i.e. driver’s license) with their name and address.
  • In the event that an individual who registered one or more children in North Howell Little League has a different last name than the child or children registered, that individual must produce documentation (i.e. birth certificate or marriage certificate) linking their name to their child’s name.
  • In the event that an individual who registered one or more children in North Howell Little League currently has a different address than used when registering the child or children during the previous season, that individual must produce documentation verifying the change of address.
  • The Current (non-Nominee) Board of Director Members who are conducting the election shall determine if an individual is eligible and has produced appropriate identification to be entitled to vote.  If an individual is determined as not entitled to vote and disagrees with that determination, the individual may cast a provisional ballot that will held aside for later review by the Executive Board.  Following that review, the ballot will either be counted or invalidated.  The Executive Board’s determination will be considered final.
  • Individuals determined eligible to vote shall be given a numbered ballot containing the list of candidates (9) and instructed to check the required number of candidates (9) of their choice.
  • Individuals must vote for the required number of seats available (9), or their Ballot will be invalidated.
  • At the conclusion of the election, the ballots will be counted by the Current (non-Nominee) Board of Director Members who are running the Election and the results will be announced immediately thereafter.
Candidates elected to the North Howell Little League Board of Directors on the day of election will convene at the first Board of Directors meeting held on the first Monday of November, or as soon as practicable for the purpose of electing their officers as required by Little League Baseball.
